Elsey James Mitchell, Sr, 81, of Zachary, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Born on September 12, 1943, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Elsey was a licensed electrician by trade. His parents were Davied and Sadie Mitchell. Elsey is survived by his wife, Estella Mitchell. He is also survived by his three children: Elsey James (Thelma Nachelle) Mitchell, Jr of Baton Rouge, LA; (2) daughters, Donna Mitchell of Dallas, TX and Nicole (Howard) Langford of Atlanta, GA; (3) granddaughters, Tiffany (Mike) Davis of Hammond, LA, Brittany (Steven) Wisham of Zachary, LA, and Courtany Mitchell of Hammond, LA; a brother, Leroy Mitchell of Baton Rouge, LA; (5) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
