Seabell White Thomas Obituary

Seabell White Thomas was born July 9, 1943, unto the union of the late Mable Harris-White and Aaron White in Summit Mississippi, a small town in Pike’s County. Growing up in Centreville, Mississippi she was the 9th child of 13 to this union. She entered eternal life on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Ochsner’s Hospital, Baton Rouge, LA. She was married to the late Arthur Thomas, Sr. and to this union two children were born, Sonyja Thomas and Arthur “Ken” Thomas, Jr.

After finishing high school, Seabell later moved to Baton Rouge where her passion for helping those in need took on a whole new meaning. Her drive and push for equality landed her as Director of the South Baton Rouge Community Service Center, where she addressed matters involving welfare rights. She was later assigned as Coordinator of the Veterans Program. After her success and recognition with the Veterans program, Seabell threw in her hat to run for city councilman but was unsuccessful. She then decided it was time to go into business for herself and became the business owner of the Silver Moon Café. Throughout her entire life she held an unwavering faith in God, and it was here her ministry began. Spreading love, prayer and a meal to all who would stop by. Her business closed but her steadfast devotion to Christ and service to others never stopped. Her journey on earth has ended, but her spirit lives on in the hearts she touched and the faith she so beautifully shared.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Sinclair White, Lamart White, Albert “Sonny Boy” White, Arthur White, Robert White, Aaron White Jr., Leon White, Bessie Mae White-Curtis, Katherine White-Posey, and Eddie Pearl White-McDonald.
