Betty D. King Obituary
Betty, born on February 3, 1952, was the cherished first child of King and Sylvia Davis of East Feliciana Parish. Her deep faith guided her throughout her life, starting from her early baptism and continuing until her final moments on earth.
Betty Davis-King departed this world on March 19, 2026, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved family, exactly as she would have wished.
A dedicated student, Betty graduated from West High School and Folks Vocational College in Jackson, Louisiana. On December 23, 1969, she married Charles Earl King, the love of her life. Their union was blessed with four children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, a testament to their enduring love that spanned fifty-seven years.
As a devoted member of McKowen Baptist Church under the leadership of Doctor Burnett King, Sr. for many years and later Visions Church under the leadership of Bishop Cary Payton, Jr., Betty's faith shone brightly through her service and interactions with others. Her impact was felt by all who crossed her path, as she selflessly served and cared for those around her. She loved The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ unconditionally and intentionally until the end of her time on earth.
In her professional life, Betty dedicated thirty-one years to the East Feliciana School System, leaving a lasting legacy as an Administrative Assistant known affectionately as "Mrs. King." Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the hearts of countless individuals within the school community. In June of 2022, Betty retired from EFPSS, leaving behind a remarkable career and a legacy of compassion and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Despite facing health challenges in her final months, Betty's spirit remained strong, and her unmatched love for her family only grew.
