Allen Stevens, Sr. Obituary

Allen Stevens Sr., age 92, a native of Norwood, LA, entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2026. He was a committed, hardworking laborer for many years before transitioning to a career in landscaping with his cherished son Allen Jr. and grandson Christopher. He loved being outdoors, attending church, and spending time at his childhood home in Norwood.




He leaves to cherish his memories: children Angela Stevens, Evelyn Stevens, and Allen Stevens, Jr. (Letha); grandchildren Cacey Stevens Bester (Christopher), Derrian Green, Martina Webb, Candice Webb, Ernie Blanson, Jr., and his devoted sidekick and absolute pride and joy Christopher Plain; great-grandchildren Cayden, Jayden, and Raelyn Addison and Jordan Bester; sister-in-law Bessie Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.




He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jane Stevens, his parents Mack and Ida Stevens, one son that died at birth, his twin brother Alvin “Boot”, and his siblings Hillard, Louise “Rooster”, Mack Jr. “Redd”, Florence, Omie, Doretha, and John Davis “J.D.”.




The family extends a special thanks to Irma Chambers, Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church Family, Pinnacle nurse Monique Bell, and Pinnacle staff members Drunella Bradley and Amanda Robinson, who all provided care and love to Mr. Stevens.




Visitation will take place at Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 8064 Mickens Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, June 6, from 9-11 a.m., followed by religious service at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow immediately at Southern Memorial Gardens, 3012 Blount Rd., Baton Rouge, LA.
