Obituary of Larry Neff

Mr. Larry Joe Neff passed away peacefully at his mother's home on January 26, 2016 at 10:40 a.m. Larry was born December 12, 1958 to the union of Jessie 'J.W.' Neff and Clara L. Neff. Larry accepted Christ at an early age at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Zachary. He attended Chaneyville High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by General Paper in Baton Rouge, LA before relocating to Santa Cruz, CA where he worked for Wayne Shaffer Realty and Associates until his illness. Gardening and hunting were his hobbies. Larry leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Clara L. Neff of Zachary, LA; two daughters, Winter Applewhite (George) of Baton Rouge, LA and Toya Windsor of Antioch, TN; two grandchildren, DazJuan Varnado and Selah Windsor; two sisters, Brenda Tate of Baker, LA and Constance (Al) Pittman of Houston, TX; three brothers, Ernest Neff and Robert (Lisa) Neff of Baton Rouge, LA, and Gregory (Lora) Neff of Baker, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his Santa Cruz, CA extended family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his father Jessie 'J.W.' Neff; three brothers, Felton, Bernard and Willie L. Neff; maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary McCray Leatherman; paternal grandparents, Jessie and Willie Jane Neff; one sister-in-law Debra B. Neff; three uncles, Tom and John Leatherman, and Charles L. Neff; three cousins, John and Johnny Lee Leatherman and Kelvin Leatherman. Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, at the Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church, 23595 Plank Rd., Zachary, LA from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Services start at 11 a.m. Special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice caregivers Heather Clark, Eva Slater, and Veronica Arthur.
