Obituary of Josie Dell Sensley

Please share a memory of Josie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) Josie transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal home in Heaven on Friday, September 02, 2016. She was native of Clinton, Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge. She retired from East Louisiana State Hospital with 26 years of service. Her motto in life was "Give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you". She believed if you give the world a smile, the world will smile with you. Her purpose in life was to minister unconditional love to all of God's children, no matter what their circumstances were, rich, poor, saint, or sinner. She often said, and believed wholeheartedly, that "God loves us all." You are invited to join the family in celebrating her life and legacy on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Clinton, Louisiana. A viewing will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Gregory McClay. Josie is survived by four daughters; Dr. Jacqulin Jacobs, Josephine Spears (Nathaniel), Emily Hinyard (Jerone), and Jerrolane Winfield (Foley); one son, Ronald Sensley (Gladys); a sister, Ethel C. Tapps; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Sensley; a sister-in-law, Ella S Pitts; an aunt, Carol Bynum; three uncles, Leroy Jefferson (Marie), William Jefferson (Emelda), and Hebert Jefferson (Brenda); 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Marshal and Mary Jefferson Cannon; a son, Willie G Sensley Jr; a grandson, Jonathan Carter; and four sisters, Chrisitine Smith, Fannie Wasso, Mamie Coston, and Mary Matthews. -
