Jacqueline Matthews (Green) Waggner, better known as 'Jackie' and 'Mama Jack', a native and resident of Clinton, LA went to be with The Lord on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the age of 77 surrounded by her loving family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and very giving lady. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She retired as a Corrections Guard from ELMHS – Forensic Division and formerly an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Villa Hospital, Jackson, LA. Jackie enjoyed learning and thoroughly read the newspaper sharing articles she found interesting and collecting recipes. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her classmates from the East Feliciana Training School (1956). She treated everyone as if they were her own and gave a smile to all she met. She is survived by seven children, Debra G. (Percy) Johnson, Cassandra G. Holliday, both of Clinton, LA; Jacqueline G. (Warren) Jefferson, Zachary, LA; Willye Jean Green, Clinton, LA; Derek Green, Oakland, CA; Medgar Green, Clinton, LA, and Dexter Green, Baton Rouge, LA; two grandsons whom she reared as her own, Chandler (Leslie) Green, Mandeville, LA and Kendrell (Cormanda) Green, Sr., Clinton, LA; a stepdaughter, Mary Alice Waggner, Long Beach, CA; 17 additional grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura M. (Leroy) Spears; a brother, James (Yvonne) Matthews, all of Clinton, LA; three additional sisters-in-law, Ola Mae Matthews, Clinton, LA; Marie Waggner, Dallas, TX, and Rose Powell, Wichita Falls, TX; two Goddaughters, Dionne Weathersby, Clinton, LA and Nedra Collins, Houston, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mattie Hays Matthews; husband, Jimmy Percy Waggner, Sr.; five brothers, Porter, Willard, Ned, Tim and Tom Matthews, and a sister, Edna Mae Wilson. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at St. Peter United Methodist Church, Clinton, LA, and funeral services on Saturday at 1:00pm at St. Peter UMC. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
