Obituary of Isabell Gransberry
Isabell (McCray) Gransberry 81, affectionately known as “Totsie” was born on January 28, 1936. She was one of 13 children born to the late Mittie Bea and the late Ennis McCray, Sr. On Saturday, January 6, 2018, the angels of the Lord spoke to Isabell and said, "good and faithful servant well done. It's time for rest!"
Isabell accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was baptized at an early age. She fellowshipped at F. T. Baptist Church in Jackson, La. until relocating to Baton Rouge, La and became a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles T. Smith. Isabell retired from Louisiana Training Institute as a Food Service Supervisor.
Isabell was married to Henry Willard Gransberry on May 12, 1963. To this marriage was born 4 children.
She is survived by her children Diane Stewart (Wardell), Deloris Gransberry, Paulette G. Jones, Lisa G. Davis all of Baton Rouge, LA. & James Dwayne Gransberry (Evelyn) Austin, TX., four sisters; Florence Palmer, Wilson, LA; Laura McCray, Pearl McCray, Rosa Jones (Charlie), all of Baton Rouge, LA.; three brothers, Clarence Dixon (Ruby), Jackson, LA; Ennis McCray, Jr. & Jessie McCray (Taffy McCray) both of Baton Rouge, LA.; three sister-in-laws, Mildred Dixon & Lillie Bea Gransberry, two brother-in-laws, Claude Gransberry, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard Gransberry; sons-in-law Dan H. Jones; granddaughter Tiesha G. Johnson; Farther & Mother-in-law Elvia & Lou Crita Gransberry, several sisters and brothers, Wilamenia McCray, Louise Hawkins, Elnora Henderson, Mary McCray, Frank Dixon and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws.
