Obituary of Jessie Mae Smith

Jessie M. Smith, 80, of Centreville, Ms. passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 14, 2021. She came into this world in the very same room she left in. Born to the late Clifford and Frances Owens Whetstone on February 21, 1941. Jessie is survived by her husband of 45 years Dave Smith. 8 children Robbin Allen, Gregg and Jeff Causey (Gloria), Johnny, Michelle and Brandon Nelson, Susan and Thomas Smith. 20 grandchildren Jennifer, Randy and Nessie Boo Terry/Causey, Josh, Roxanne, Jake, Tonya and Hank The Tank Allen. Jessica Causey, Jason, John, Jenny and Lil Gregg Causey, Lily Nelson, Cheyeanne and Niecee Nelson, Devin Nelson, Mary and JC Smith 37 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; 1 brother Donnie Whetstone. Many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Sissy. Jessie was preceded in death by 1 son Walter Vincent Causey, 2 granddaughters Shannon and Nicole Allen. 1 great grandson Cai’lyn Causey Thomas. Brothers Clifton, George, Bodie, Glen and 1 sister Barbara. Jessie was a hairdresser in her early twenties. Then moved to Fort Worth Texas where she owned and operated The Astoria restaurant/ club. After that she opened a home health care business Foster Care Unlimited in her home where she provided loving care for the elderly and disabled. Jessie loved to cook for her family; we had weekly sessions sitting at her table gossiping and laughing for hours while the kids played. She was passionate about her plants and yard, they thrived from her green thumb. She loved to dance with her dance card always full. Bingo/Casinos was also hobbies of hers, she could play her cards and yours too. Jessie, mother, mom, Grandma J, Mimi, and Aunt Sissy will be terribly missed by all who loved her. Visitation will be Friday, February 19th, 2021. From 4-6pm @Richardson Funeral Home of Clinton, LA.
